WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT THE FOOD AND BEVERAGE INDUSTRY?
I have a love for food, wine and customer service. I love that it is an ever changing industry with new trends constantly emerging and an ever increasing expectation for superior customer service. I love the buzz of a busy restaurant and bar and I really enjoy the customer interaction.
The increasing popularity of cooking shows has led to customers being more educated and more adventurous in their dining and this has allowed for more exciting offerings to be delivered not only in food, but beverage as well.
WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE YOU'VE COME ACROSS WORKING IN THIS INDUSTRY?
Sourcing high quality local produce. This has thankfully changed in the past couple of years as consumers and producers have become more savvy to the benefits of local products. This is even the case in beverage with the emergence of some great local gins and whiskeys.
WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU'VE BEEN GIVEN?
Use high quality, fresh produce and don’t over complicate the offering.
