Supporting the Supertee Project

#COMMUNITYSTRONG

Supertee was founded by Jason Sotiris in 2018 to make hospital stays and medical treatment easier for young children. Supertee works by providing medical garments designed as fun costumes, that helps parents and hospital staff with an easy way to change their child while accessing or bypassing medical lines.

The idea came to him while his then one-year-old daughter, Angela, was undergoing chemotherapy in hospital.

Wests Illawarra was incredibly proud to host a Supertee packing event at the Club recently. With the help of more than 50 amazing members and staff, we managed to pack nearly 400 Supertee packs in just a few hours. These packs were then delivered to the Children’s Ward at Wollongong Hospital.

Jason Sotiris, Supertee Founder and CEO comments: “We’d like to thank Wests Illawarra for their generous support to Supertee. The Supertee care packs assembled today will go to kids in hospital free of charge thanks to their valued team of staff and members who have volunteered their time.”

Renata Garnero, Chief Financial Officer at Wests Illawarra, says: “Wests Illawarra is incredibly proud to assist Supertee and help make the time children spend at Wollongong Hospital for treatment a little less overwhelming. Hopefully, the Marvel Edition and Space Commander designs will bring a smile to their faces, and that of their families and loved ones.”
