On Sunday, September 8th, 2024, the Western Suburbs Devils etched their names into Illawarra Rugby League history with two emphatic grand final victories at WIN Stadium.
In the 2024 Harrigan Premiership Grand Final, the Devils’ 1st Grade team triumphed over the Thirroul Butchers with a 31-20 victory. The Devils showcased their attacking prowess with tries from Dylan Lauri, Jy Hitchcox, Kade Reed, George Jennings, Colby Pellow, and Dylan Palmer-Quigg. All conversions were handled by Dane Chisholm, who played a pivotal role in the team’s success.
Earlier in the day at the 2024 IRL Harrigan Plate Grand Final, the Devils’ Reserve Grade side delivered a commanding performance, defeating the Berkeley Eagles 42-0. The Reserve Grade team dominated the match, with Alec Bush, Viliami Amone, and Kurt Field (scoring twice) crossing the line, while Brock Sepulveda delivered an unforgettable hat-trick. Clay Baldock added the extras with flawless conversions, ensuring the Devils walked away with an emphatic win. The victories reflect not only the exceptional talent within the club but also the community spirit that underpins its success.
